Last month I was scrolling through Instagram when I discovered the account called The Champagne Diet. Needless to say the name was enough for me to start scrolling through. The consistency of the beautiful photos and the message that went along with them was so empowering and spiritual. I was obsessed. I soon discovered the account belonged to Cara Alwill Leyba, blogger, author and life coach extraordinaire. As I looked more into her career I found that Cara had written several books and the one that immediately caught my eye was Girl Code.
I purchased Girl Code that same day and immediately began researching (coughs *stalking* coughs) all things Champagne Diet. I was obsessed with the message that Cara was promoting and I couldn’t get enough. Soon I was reading Girl Code (and suggesting it for all of you to read which by the way, you all must do), compulsively checking Instagram/Twitter/Snapchat for any updates, listening to Cara’s podcast Style Your Mind and ordering her workbook, also named Style Your Mind. I cannot get enough of Cara’s empowering and honest message that she has for women.
Cara Alwill Leyba – Background
So a little background on Cara. She worked as an advertising exec at MTV for almost 10 years before quitting her job to focus on her own hustle – writing books, blogging and life coaching. When Cara started working towards becoming a life coach writing her books, she was still maintaining her full time job at MTV. She just realized that even though the job was glamorous (by others standards) and she had thought this was what she wanted, what she really wanted was a life she could create for herself, a life that gave her purpose. How brave to give up such an established position at such a well known company. It goes to show that sometimes you just have to take a leap and bet on yourself. Cara did and it certainly worked out.
The Overall Message
What draws me in to all of Cara’s different platforms is the consistency and honesty that her message conveys. She is constantly encouraging women to embrace their own change and to live life for themselves. Rather than accepting a life where you simply exist, you should have a life that you love, one that you create yourself.
Another core belief that Cara focuses on is women empowering each other. In her book Girl Code she ends every chapter with an interview with another powerful woman. She has them on her podcast and interviews them there. She gives them shout outs on her social media and on her podcasts when she isn’t interviewing anyone. In all of her work, Cara is constantly encouraging other women and encouraging you to do the same. I couldn’t help but feel empowered to start boosting up the other female entrepreneurs/hustlers that I know as I was reading her book. All I wanted to do was just give every hardworking woman I know the biggest shout out and let them know how amazing they are.
It’s amazing when you hear a woman building other women up but it’s even more powerful when her words make you want to do the same thing! There’s no need for cattiness or competing against each other. We need to be there for each other and support the women in our lives. Cara is constantly urging others to do that and is always finding ways to build up the women around her and make you want to do the same thing. It’s incredibly powerful and moving to hear.
My Suggestion to you
The best suggestion i can give to any woman in my life is go and discover Cara Alwill Leyba! Listen to her podcast, read her books, follow her on social media. She is so empowering towards other women and immediately makes you want to sit down and figure out what your goals are and work your ass off to achieve them – all in a 20 minute podcast! I cannot stress how much discovering her work has changed my mindset. I truly believe that anyone who falls into the Champagne Diet lifestyle will feel the same way!
